We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Transport team at Greggs. This is a new role in which you will be able to shape the function and drive standards. You will have a team of 4 delivery point assessors and will work closely with logistics colleagues and those in Safety, Health and Environment.

About the role

  • This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
  • We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
  • The base location for this role is Great Britain. The role is hybrid/remote working with frequent UK travel as your direct reports are field based. Regular travel to the Head Office in Newcastle  is also required. 

What you'll do

  • Set tactical direction for operational transport safety and road risk reduction nationally
  • Develop, implement and maintain a standardized system of mandatory safety training and associated recorded keeping for transport office teams
  • Support site operations as SME for Transport Safety and compliance with national safety processes
  • Manages the continual process of reviewing risk assessment, both routinely and post incident for Transport owned RA.
  • Manage the DPA process nationally, including site level audits
  • Liaise with Transport Planning Team and TM/LMs on retail delivery Master Data
  • Lead Transport Audit for the Safety element

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience of analysing information and issues to identify current and potential problems and develop and implement workable solutions

  • Able to engage and work collaboratively with other teams to make improvements to processes and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • A good communicator, able to operate at all levels clearly and concisely with the proven ability to communicate complex data terminology so it is understood by the data owner and the business
